We've used the Douglas DC-3 airplane in our logo since the late '80s, to reflect the belief that mastering entertainment technology is like being in the cockpit of a revolutionary flying machine – it combines discipline, a love of innovation, and ultimately, passion, to position yourself in the best possible and most efficient way to move forward – in pursuit of dreams, goals, and success.
The degree programs at Full Sail are full-time. Schedules are distributed on a monthly basis, and students will usually know their schedule one or two weeks in advance of the new month. Campus students attend classes and labs five to six days, 32 to 40 hours each week. By doing so, students will typically graduate from school in roughly less than half the time required at a traditional college or university.
There are approximately 21,000 students enrolled at Full Sail.
Most campus students attend 32 to 40 hours of class and labs per week. The lecture portion of a course usually meets during the day or early evening. The lab portion of a course will follow the lecture. Full Sail operates on a 24-hour-a-day basis and labs may take place at any time during the day or night. This is done to mimic entertainment industry schedules and to prepare students for real-world production scenarios. To learn more, visit Our Campus.
Our online degree programs are built around a human approach to online education. Students collaborate and communicate with classmates and also have access to instructors, most of whom are located on Full Sail’s campus. To learn more, visit Learning Online.
Online and on-campus degree programs both take the same amount of credit hours to complete. Some people choose to attend on campus because they believe that's the best learning environment for them. Others choose to pursue a degree online because they can't relocate, want to maintain a full-time job, have family commitments, etc. In addition, some online programs are not available on campus and vice-versa.
For campus students, some courses will be delivered via the Full Sail Online platform.
Full Sail does not have on-campus living arrangements, but our Housing department helps students locate apartments and provides information on potential roommates if needed. We provide a housing guide that provides detailed information on apartment complexes, floor plans, and prices. You can view an online version of our housing guide here.
